Background
Womankind Kenya (WOKIKE) is an indigenous local Non-Governmental Organization that was established in the year 1989 as a women’s welfare group/association and later registered under the NGO co-ordination ACT of 1990 in September 1995 as Womankind Kenya (WOKIKE) Reg No OP.218/ 051/ 951/ 446. The organization particularly targets women and children, the most vulnerable members of society.
Womankind Kenya is founded on the vision of a just society that is self-reliantwhose mission is to improve the living standards of vulnerable communities by supporting members of the society, especially women and children to demand their rights from service providers and equally have control over their own lives. WOKIKE Works in Northern Kenya and parts of the Coastal Region with its office in Garissa (Head Quarter) and other offices in Nairobi and Kwale counties.
WOKIKE focuses on the following thematic areas; women empowerment and just governance, climate change resilience and livelihood, child protection and education, peacebuilding and conflict transformation, emergency response and humanitarian aid
Profile
Under the overall guidance of the Executive Director and Programs Coordinator, the M&E Officer will be responsible for monitoring and ensuring high quality and timely inputs, and for ensuring that projects / programs maintains their strategic vision and that its activities result in the achievement of its intended outputs / outcomes in a cost effective and timely manner.
The M&E officer will be responsible for designing and implementing the M&E activities of the Projects / programs; assisting the Program team in preparing Quarterly / Annual reports on project progress and will monitor the project activities on a regular basis, developing and maintaining the MIS of the Projects and will be responsible for the collection & analysis of different data in relation to the projects activities.
The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will work in close collaboration with program teams, Management, and other Key stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will have the following duties and responsibilities:
- Develop and strengthen monitoring, inspection, and evaluation procedures
- Monitor all project activities, expenditures, and progress toward achieving the project output;
- Recommend further improvement of the logical framework;
- Develop monitoring and impact indicators for the project’s success;
- Monitor and evaluate overall progress on achievement of results;
- Monitor the sustainability of the project’s results;
- Provide feedback to the Management on project strategies and activities;
- Suggest strategies to the Project Management for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the project by identifying bottlenecks in completing project activities and developing plans to minimize or eliminate such bottlenecks;
- Conduct capacity assessment on existing monitoring and evaluation system Develop indicators and a monitoring strategy for the projects;
- Provide inputs, information and statistics for quarterly, annual and other reports to Management Team
- Participate in annual project reviews and planning workshops and assist the Management in preparing relevant reports;
- Support monitoring and evaluation of the effects and impact of the project;
- Assist in coordinating across the available components of the Project to ensure effective implementation of M&E
- Assist the project personnel with M&E tools and in supporting them in their use.
- Perform other duties as required;
Qualification and Experience
Education:
University Degree preferably Statistics, Economics, Monitoring and Evaluation or Social Sciences with a further training on M&E or related field.
Experience:
At least 3 years of experience in the design and implementation of M&E in development and Humanitatian projects
Experience in designing tools and strategies for data collection, analysis and production of reports;
Proven ICT skills, relevant in M&E
Expertise in analysing data using statistical software;
Language Requirements:
Fluency in written and spoken English(Understanding of Local Language will be an added advantage)
