Avenue Hospital was founded in 1995 for the purpose of managing the outpatient department at the Hospital, and to extend medical services to corporate clientele through an innovative concept of Managed Healthcare.
Job Objective/Purpose
To provide safe, reliable and efficient transport services to Avenue’s clients and staff.
Key Responsibilities
Ensuring that the allocated vehicle is kept clean and secure at all times (especially when not in use).
Checking the vehicle (on a daily basis) to ensure that all systems – lights, brakes, horn, siren, tires, signaling etc. are in good working condition and reporting problems / malfunctions immediately.
Checking and verifying that the engine oil , battery, brake fluid and fuel levels are adequate.
Ensuring that the allocated vehicle is properly maintained and stocked with spare tire, spanner, emergency triangle, first aid box etc.
Ensuring that ambulances are properly stocked with required medical items, documents and other consumables and that all equipment is in working order.
Checking and notifying the Head of Transport at least 14 days / two weeks ahead of expiry of road license and insurance.
Ensuring that he/she updates and properly maintains the driver’s log book – mileage, record of trips and accounts for fuel consumption.
Ensuring that only authorized passengers are carried and strictly follows the transport request procedures.
Immediate reporting of any incident including delays, mechanical problems; accidents etc… – and taking appropriate action to rectify or solve the problem.
Immediate reporting of loss or damage of company vehicles or other items (radios, jack, tyre…etc).
Any other duty as assigned by the supervisor in line with the job description
Personal Specifications
A certificate in driving and a valid driver’s license.
Minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience in Driving.
Organizational awareness and detail-oriented.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Teamwork and reliability.
