Reports to:
The Disability Inclusive DRR Knowledge Management officer will report to the Senior Advisor DRR Lead.
The position holder will work closely with DRR and Climate Change focal points at CBM Global country offices, different technical teams (Humanitarian Action, Community Mental Health, Community Based Inclusive Development, Global advocacy and Inclusion Advisory Group) and member teams (from different members namely CBM Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, Switzerland and UK). The position holder will work closely with CBM Global monitoring evaluation and learning advisor
The position holder may be requested to join internal and/or external coordination groups and community of practice on disability inclusion, DRR and climate change.
The role will be part/support the work of the following internal working groups: Climate Action Group, Country Coordination Forums, Humanitarian Management Teams, Advocacy Group and Inclusion Advisory Group.

Job Overview
CBM Global has articulated its focus on disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation programming in recent years and is reflecting this more robustly through its global programme strategy. It considers documenting change and lessons learned in the projects and programmes as key towards potential scale up, sharing with the wider community and partners which leads to greater collective impact.
CBM Global believe that evidence from the programmes on inclusive DRR and climate change adaptation can inform advocacy initiatives and can equip CBM Global to provide technical advisory support to other actors. Working with other actors also allows CBM Global to learn about the latest trends and gain further insights on different sectors and further support innovative and effective programmes.
The position holder will lead knowledge management in the field of disability inclusive DRR and climate change adaptation work and support related resource development and capacity strengthening initiatives of CBM Global.
The position holder will support positioning of CBM Global internationally and strengthen our country programmes by sharing documented practices, lessons learned and research results as evidence with broader stakeholders, relevant networks and platforms. The position holder will strengthen CBM Global’s advocacy messages through evidence generated from the programmes.
Based: We welcome applications from those with the right to work in the UK, Germany, Netherlands, Ireland, Burkina Faso, Indonesia, Philippines, Zimbabwe, Nepal, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Kenya, Madagascar, Lao PDR, and Bolivia.
This position will require 20% international travelling.

Salary range: The salary offered will be competitive, dependent on skills and experience, as well as country of location. We offer a local contract
Responsibilities and Duties
Resource development and Knowledge Management:
- Lead the development of knowledge framework on Disability Inclusive DRR and Climate change adaptation
- In line with the global DRR and Climate change plan, support appropriate action research at global and in country level aimed to generate evidence on gaps and good practices on disability inclusive DRR and climate change adaptation
- Support sharing of results of different research and knowledge products internally and externally
- Consolidate DRR and climate change adaptation experience in different CBM Global country programmes
- Support incorporation of key learning objectives in pilot DRR and climate change adaptation project design phase
- Support and mentor CBM Global project teams in developing appropriate learning objectives, capturing of relevant information and documentation of good practice and knowledge products
- Document learning across the Federation through participating in regular monitoring, mid term reviews, dedicated research activities and evaluation of disability inclusive DRR and climate change adaptation projects
- Support development of annual reports to capture thematic work of CBM Global on disability inclusive DRR and Climate adaptation
Capacity building:
- Support development of appropriate disability inclusive DRR and climate adaptation training programmes and its roll out
- Suggest innovative ways of developing and strengthening of capacities on DRR and climate change adaptation within country offices teams and selected partners
- Support development of appropriate technical guidance on disability inclusive DRR and Climate change adaptation
- Support roll out of appropriate technical guidance in CBM Global priority countries
- Support organisation and functioning of DRR/climate change adaptation community of practice
Coordination:
- Ensure alignment of knowledge management framework on DRR and climate change adaptation with the overall CBM Global monitoring, evaluation and learning framework.
- Coordinate across different technical areas to ensure DRR and Climate change adaptation is mainstreamed when relevant and learnings are captured through dedicated knowledge products.
Key outcomes expected from this role in first two years
- Knowledge management framework on disability inclusive DRR and climate change adaptation is developed and rolled out
- At least 4 to 6 significant Disability Inclusive DRR and Climate Adaptation projects create documented evidence on good practice and gaps
- At least 6 significant knowledge products are developed that position CBM Global strategically to influence national actors including governments and look for scale up and support influencing efforts at important policy cycle events such as GPDRR, Bonn Conference, COP and HLPF
- At least 4 CBM Global country offices demonstrate confidence (experience and technical expertise) in Disability Inclusive DRR and climate change adaptation programming
Person Specification
All of the following requirements are essential, unless marked with a * when they are desirable, and will be assessed from a combination of information provided from the application form and interview process.

Education, Knowledge & Professional Experience
- Degree in political science, humanitarian policy, international development or related subjects or relevant professional experience
- Professional background and relevant working experience and expertise in both Disability Inclusive DRR and climate change.
- Minimum of 8 years relevant working experience in low and middle-income countries, with at least 50% of that time at key objectives linked with knowledge management and action research
- At least 4 years of relevant experience in, preferably disability inclusion and/or gender equality and social inclusion
- Strong understanding and application of CRPD principles and a rights-based approach to Inclusive Disaster Risk Reduction, climate change and Community Based Disaster Risk Management.
- Background and experience in development cooperation, including application of relevant tools and methods (inclusive project cycle management, participatory action research, documentation and publication of good practices.
- Knowledge and understanding of international trends and priorities in DIDRR and climate change
- Experience in working with teams and partners in developing projects, identifying learning opportunities and articulating best ways of capturing evidence.
- Expertise in capacity development including facilitation skills and coaching.
