Product Manager – Biomass at BURN

BURN designs, manufactures, and distributes aspirational fuel-efficient cooking products that save lives and forests in the developing world.BURN has revolutionized the global cookstove sector by proving the business case for selling a high quality, locally manufactured and unsubsidized cookstoves.Since 2013, BURN has sold 200,000+ high quality, locally manufactured and unsubsidized jikokoas â„¢ stoves in East Africa. These stoves have helped 1,000,000+ beneficiaries save $39 million in fuel expenditures and 626,221 tons of wood while reducing indoor air pollution by 65%. BURN currently sells ~10,000 stoves per month and intend to double sales by the end of 2017.Duties and Responsibilities

Conducting market research to identify new product opportunities and evaluate the potential of existing products for innovation or renovation efforts.
Developing a comprehensive product roadmap that aligns with the company's overall product strategy.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth product introduction into operations.
Managing the product development process, from ideation to launch, to achieve planned timelines.
Documenting product development processes and creating new ones as needed to improve efficiency and consistency.
Serving as a liaison between R&D, operations, and commercial business functions to ensure product goals and strategy alignment.
Analyzing and interpreting product performance data to inform product optimization and improvement efforts.
Managing the product lifecycle, including product end-of-life decisions and exit strategies.
Developing and executing product marketing plans, including pricing, promotion, and distribution strategies.
Monitoring industry trends and competitor activity to stay ahead of market developments and identify potential threats or opportunities.
Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and partners, to ensure successful product outcomes and collaboration.

Skills and Experience:

3-5 years of relevant experience, in physical product/marketing management, New Product development, and commercialization.
An engineering background will be a significant plus.
Strong communicator, collaborator, and hands-on manager.
Ability to keep track of all the moving pieces in your cross-functional team and product management process.
You have experience in managing and working cross-functionally with diverse teams that might span different time zones.
 You are not shy to ask questions and are always striving to deliver the best results, considering the complexity of the system and its requirements.
